Focus Areas

The Maryland General Assembly's role is to enact laws necessary for the welfare of the State's citizens. They propose amendments to the Maryland Constitution which must then be ratified by voters during the general election. As a Delegate to the Maryland General Assembly, representing central St. Mary's County and southern Calvert County, I will ensure the issues that directly affect my constituents are heard and that our rights and concerns are protected.

On your behalf, it is my priority to focus on smart infrastructure, law and order, a steady reduction in taxes, fees, and unnecessary regulations, in addition to the quality of education within our schools.

Smart Infrastructure

Key infrastructure points to focus on:

  1. Solomons Island Bridge (both directions)
  2. Intersection of Great Mills Road & Route 5

I will keep up the pressure on the Maryland Department of Transportation to address these two main bottle necks.

As Southern Maryland continues to grow, I will ensure that Annapolis provides our counties with the resources to move about safely and efficiently.

Law and Order

Violent crime rates are spiking across the nation. Southern Maryland is not exempt. On average a crime is committed in Maryland every 2 minutes. Soft on crime politicians have emboldened criminals and made the streets of Maryland less safe. We must enact legislation that protects the citizens, not the criminals.

Reduction in Taxes, Fees, and Regulations

High taxes and over-regulation have driven America's population from high-tax states toward low-tax states at an alarming rate. That means our most successful citizens are taking their money and investing it elsewhere. Wouldn't it be smarter to lower our taxes and encourage the best and brightest Marylanders to stay right here?

Worst of all, our retirement taxes are too high. Why stay here when you can take your retirement somewhere where you can keep your hard earned money in your own bank account, not into the accounts of unelected bureaucrats? Let's lower our taxes for retirees and eliminate retirement taxes for veterans.

Quality Education

A quality education system is the foundation of any successful civilization. We need to focus our attention on:

  1. Vocational technical training and education
  2. Open up the aperture beyond our normal public school models
  3. Drastically reduce the cost of colleges and universities
  4. Full transparency for public school curriculums

Protect the Beauty of Southern Maryland

Southern Maryland has a uniquely beautiful blend of agriculture and aquaculture. As our technology centers continue to grow along with its corresponding work force, its critical that we protect our beauty and harmonize housing, industry, and the natural environment.
